We suggest that there is an inverse U-shaped relationship between technological profile and industrial innovation performance. Moreover, the moderating role of knowledge flow and knowledge capacity is recognized and is hypothesized as negatively moderate the effect of technological profile on industrial innovation performance. Negative binomial regression was used to test the hypotheses in a panel data of 360 industry-year cases and the findings support our prediction.
