In the design of a total process system, heat exchange between a heat recovery network (HEN) and a steam distribution network (SDN) is available for obtaining the better energy utilization. Specifically, the heat flow distribution between total sites is considered to enhance the performance of whole systems. A systematic energy management is fulfilled with the proposed integrated SDN-HEN model, where the allocation of the energy flow is optimized. Case study is presented to demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of the proposed approach.
