2008-02-012024-05-16https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/669534摘要:計畫分為兩個部分,第一部份將和土木系康仕仲老師密切合作,擬以動力系統數學模式與資料展示技術和學生互動,重視模式建立、科學計算以及資料展示技術。計畫第二部分將探索極端環境下生命存在的機制,這機制的探討,可以協助瞭解生命起源大問題外,也可以提供外太空生命探索的科學線索。具體切入研究為探索溫泉區的嗜高溫菌的群落分析(動物所于宏燦老師),以及火山地底深處細菌的群落分析(地質系林立虹老師)。此類高溫菌屬於極端環境的生物,極端環境和地球形成初期,或是外太空的一些星球類似,因此天文所孫維新老師也將在計畫中提供尋求外太空生命的研究方向;而本人和海洋所謝志豪老師計畫可以提供氣象和數學模式分析細菌群落,以量化的模式預測生態系統的穩定性,進而瞭解何種物理化學因子對系統穩定度與過渡的控制與影響,土木系康仕仲老師提供資料展示視覺化visualization的工具。電機系李百祺老師提供一些影像處理與探測(image processing)用於偵測細菌群落技術,<br> Abstract: This proposal has two components. The first component the PI collaborates with Dr. Kang of civil engineering to interact with the students on the mathematical modeling, scientific computing, and data visualization techniques . The second component of the proposal will also attempt to explore the distribution and adaptive strategy of microbial life in extreme environments using geomicrobiological and astrobiological knowledge and technique. The ultimate goal is to establish the criteria in identifying the existence of microbial life in geothermal environments. Students will focus on the learning the fundamental knowledge and some experimental technique through literature review and discussion and laboratory practice in the initial phase.
