A detailed examination of the historical development of dan, danshi, zhi, zhishi, buguo, zhibuguo reveals that danshi emerges from lexicalization while the other five adversative conjunctions, from grammaticalization. These five conjunctions are derived from the evaluative function of exclusive adverbs, but their adversative meanings appear based on the context. This linguistic change can also be found in other languages; by observing these foreign words, a firmer grasp of this change is therefore acquired.34475131 bytesapplication/pdf限定副詞、轉折連詞、語法化、詞彙化、意合式、形合式、轄域(exclusive adverbs, adversative conjunctions, grammaticalization, lexicalization, parataxis, hypotaxis, scope)從限定到轉折journal article10.6281/NTUCL.2012.36.07http://ntur.lib.ntu.edu.tw/bitstream/246246/282432/1/0036_201203_7.pdf
