2017-01-012024-05-17https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/680432摘要：外語教學暨資源中心在此分項計畫下已進入第十一年度。中心之任務從建置自學資源與網路平台開始，經過課程研發與軟硬體資源整合，推出了一系列的線上課程，現已是臺大最多線上英語課程的提供者。課程包含了採用「混成式教學」的「進階英語課程」，與「線上自學」的「學術英語」、「高階英語」、「專業英語」此三領域的課程。在「專業英語」方面，今年度計畫中新增了「醫學英語」課程。此外，為提升臺大學生的英語簡報技能，今年延續自去年開始之「簡報技巧」與「簡報英語」計畫，進一步推出了「英語簡報入門--懶人包」自學教材，以中文作為媒介，讓學生更容易學習與吸收。 除自學課程與教材的研發，中心在今年度計畫中仍不斷在多元自學資源的建置上努力。中心的「E-freeway線上外語自學教室」網站上有多項不同學習目的與主題的自學軟體資源，師生只要透過帳號就能自由在線上使用。中心也自行編製有「英語學習電子報」與中級、中高級「自學包裹」兩樣學習資源。英語學習電子報除提供中心之最新訊息之外，還有一篇中心編譯與加註的英文時事新聞，讀者能自行閱讀與學習。現每月發行兩次，至105年12月底已發行311期，訂閱人數達30,619人，多年來一直為臺大最多訂閱人數之電子報。另外，中心每月固定推出自編的「中級」、「中高級」自學包裹，以一般性英語、學術英語和專業英語為學習的內容，符合大學生的學習者需求。至105年12月底，已推出中級99回、中高級104回。 中心於今年亦舉辦了多場學習活動與講座，促進校內不同類型、目的、需求的外語學習。今年度舉辦有「English Corner午間會話課」、「英語文表達暨簡報技巧競賽」、多種外語的「自學認證」辦法。中心舉行多場英語學習講座，除了持續推廣中心建置的自學資源，也與校外機構合作，進行以海外留學與英語學習為主題之演講。中心亦開設六至八週的短期課程，以英語口語溝通、簡報技巧為課程主題。 中心已累積豐富的英語教學資源與經驗。服務內容隨著學生一起成長，積極於校園內推展數位化時代的網路資源運用與自學策略，所提供的學習內容也以分級化與專業化方向發展。中心展望未來，希望能持續推動臺大的英語自學資源強化與各項教學任務，提供臺大師生一個豐富的外語學習網。 <br> Abstract: The Foreign Language Teaching and Resource Center has been a core contributor to this ongoing project for the past eleven years. We started by setting up a website collecting useful learning resources that could facilitate English self-learning. With further curriculum design and resource integration, our center is now an important provider of online English courses at NTU. We are currently hosting an array of courses: one “blended teaching” course, Online English Program, and several online self-study courses in three major domain, i.e. EAP (English for Academic Purposes), ESP (English for Professional/Specific Purposes), and Advanced English (English at C1 level and above). English for Medicine is a new addition this year under our ESP label. On the other hand, as a continuation of the endeavor we embarked on to elevate students’ English presentation skills, this year we released an electronic self-study package, Fundamental English Presentation Skills, which is written in Chinese, in the hope of facilitating understanding and learning. Apart from developing and maintaining the aforesaid courses and self-learning materials, we spare no effort in improving our services and providing great and diversified self-learning recourses. With an NTU account, teachers and students can easily access a multitude of self-learning materials on our website E-freeway, which hoards a wealth of self-learning materials. We also issue a biweekly center newsletter, which contains both latest news of our center and a news story of current affairs with Chinese translation and annotations for self-learning. By the end of 2016, we have a total of 311 issues, and 30,619 subscribers. We have held the record of owing the greatest number of subscribers at NTU for several years in a row. Self-study packages are released monthly with contents suitable for learners of intermediate and higher intermediate levels. The materials of the self-study package series contain contents of General English with a growing focus on EAP/ESP to reflect our target learners’ developmental and learning needs. At the end of year 2016, we have 99 units at intermediate level and 104 units at higher intermediate level. We have held various learning activities that aim at fulfilling individual need of learners with different learning goals and learning styles. These activities include English Corner—English Conversation Group, English Presentation Contest, and Foreign Language Self-Study Certificate Program. Besides the workshops we held to introduce the learning recourses provided by our center to all NTU members, we also invited guest speakers from other institutes to provide useful and up-to-date information on topics about studying overseas and English learning skills. Six-to-eight-week crash courses honing communication and presentation skills were also offered at our center. The Foreign Language Learning and Resource Center has accumulated great experience and abundant resources in English teaching since the beginning of this project. Our services have evolved and expanded in accordance with the needs of our students. We endeavor to promote effective utilization of the language learning resources on the Internet and self-study strategies in the digital era. We will also continue to develop our services and courses that value learner differences and improve English competence at advanced and professional levels. Our mission in the future is to continue our dedicated efforts to the development of learning resources and courses.
