2018-05-012024-05-18https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/704530摘要:本計畫的目的在研究「工作記憶」與「自閉特質」在預測第二語言的韻律結構是否扮演重要的角色。受測者主要為以英語為第二語言的台灣大學生。實驗的內容分兩部分。首先,每位受試者必須完成認知、性格評估相關的兩份問卷,分別為「自閉特質商數」及「工作記憶問卷」。 接著,受試者將會參與以下聽覺測驗:(ㄧ)「快速韻律轉錄」:受試者必須根據播放的錄音內容來標記「韻律加重的單詞」以及「韻律邊界」。(二)「韻律邊界檢測」:受試者將會聽到英語、瑞典語、及台語的錄音片段,片段長度有長短之分(兩秒長及一字長)、邊界大小也有層次之分(字邊界、短語邊界、語調邊界)。受試者必須根據錄音的內容預測後續邊界的大小。過去的研究發現,母語者和二語學習者會使用不同的聲學測量來預測韻律加重的單詞和韻律邊界。本計劃將著重在觀察內在的個體差異(即工作記憶與自閉特質)對此聽覺感知結果的影響。本計畫也將涉及到二語韻律習得的發展,以及注意力在韻律處理中所扮演的角色。 <br> Abstract: This proposal aims to examine the role of "the working memory" and "the autistic traits" in predicting the prosodic prominence and the perceptual strength of the prosodic boundaries in a second language. A group of university students in Taiwan will have to complete two questionnaires for cognitive and personality assessments – autism-spectrum quotient questionnaire and working memory questionnaire. Each subject will have to participate in one of the two auditory tasks – Rapid Prosody Transcription Task and Boundary Detection Task. In the Rapid Prosody Transcription Task, the subjects are required to mark the prominent words and the prosodic boundaries according to what they hear. In the Boundary Detection Task, the subjects will hear fragments of English, Swedish, and Taiwanese varying in length (two levels: 2-second or one-word long) and size of the actual following boundary (three levels: word boundary, intermediate phrase boundary and intonational phrase boundary). The subjects are asked to predict the upcoming boundary size using an onscreen slider. Previous studies have shown that native speakers and L2 learners use different acoustic measures as predictors of their perception of phrasal prominence and prosodic phrasing. This project attempts to take intrinsic individual differences into account and see if they are influential factors for the perceptual results.
