However, most of the upstream key materials still rely on importation, such as high reflective index films, focusing microlens, and high refractive index LED encapsulants. This objective of this project is to develop key materials technology for the optoelectonic industry and high valued-added products for the chemical/materials industry. It will be carried out through the resources of the Advanced Polymers and Nanotechnology Center in National Taiwan University. During the last few years, we have developed novel hybrid optical films with potential industrial applications, including high refractive index thin films, low refractive index films, antireflective films, and optical waveguiding materials. Such innovation has been awarded nineteen patents and technology transfer to several domestic companies. In the continuation of our efforts, we aim at the emerging new optical materials, such as high refractive index microlens and LED encapsulants through the nanocomposite approaches. In the project, we propose the following four new material technologies: (1) development of new high refractive index organic materials; (2) development of high refractive index polymer/oxide nanocomposites for the applications of antireflective films or microlens; (3) high refractive index silicon based nanocomposites as LED encapsulants; (4) high refractive index epoxy based nanocomposites as LED encapsulants. The core technologies of this project are molecular design, new material synthesis, organic-inorganic hybrids and nanocomposite processing. Technology collaboration with international research centers and domestic industry or research center will be emphasized in this project. Besides, this project will produce high level research human resources for the industry.高分子奈米複合光學材料計畫( I )
