However, most relevant discussions focus on policy formation, planning programs and case studies, and pay less intention for key personnel in cultural and creative industries. This project will take architecture and graphic designers as examples, exploring their work, life and ethics in urban environment. Firstly, this project will investigate designers’ cultural production or laboring processes, and their respective modes of positioning and operation in cultural Industries. The second focus is designers’ everyday life or lifestyles, especially their relationship to the urban milieu and specific places – the local embedding of cultural workers and cultural industries. Finally, this project also tries to discuss ethnical issues in cultural industries and creative works; these issues about social justice and values will be explored through designers’ attitudes towards products of their creativity and the whole cultural industries, especially concerning social value and environmental consequences, and the potential conflicts among creativity, culture intermediation, commodification, and labor-capital relation. This project will take urban ethnography as methodological approach, observing and interviewing selected subjects’ work, life and attitude towards ethnical issues. The project’s emphasis on local embedding of cultural industries and creative designers will reveal that places exert different but equally important influences upon the operation of cultural industries and designers’ work and life. And the project will try to explore the heterogeneity of cultural industries through the comparison between architectural designers and graphic designers, in order to help formulating cultural policies more pertaining to the needs of creative workers.文化產業創意產業設計者地方都市文化cultural industriescreative industriesdesignerplaceurban culture文化產業設計者的地方鑲嵌:工作、生活與倫理
