Moreover, it will discuss from the perspective of the natural world, ethics, risk and democracy, the way in which contemporary developments in science and technology have caused the evolution of concepts such as ethical dilemma, social conflict and uncertainty along with the notion of science and technology policymakers as being democratically validated. In particular, this series of lectures will attempt, through discussion workshops between Taiwanese academics from the fields of humanities and social science, scientists and open public lectures, to discuss and ponder the nature of the problems mentioned and potential methods for their resolution. Besides this, a process of discussion and conversations of this nature, will also reveal a deeper understanding of Eastern thinking, the special context and meaning of science and technology, the humanities, ethics or science and technology risks in local society, justice and democracy within this eastern framework. This in turn will lead to a more comprehensive self examination of propositions for contemporary science and technology’s global localization.人文社會講座--現代科技文明發展的反思 : 人文及社會科學的觀點
