Investigate the relationship among exclusion processes, avalanche processes, and self-organized criticality models, and the limiting behaviors (e.g. law of large numbers, large deviation estimates, and fluctuations) of various important characteristic quantities, e.g. the total distance traveled by particles, the average size of an avalanche, etc. 2.
