2005-08-012024-05-17https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/691822摘要:影音多媒體一直是人們相當重要的溝通媒介及娛樂方式。最初,影音以類比的方式擷取、儲存或傳輸。但是隨著數位電路的發展及個人電腦的普及化,造就了影音資料的數位化以及眾多影音資料壓縮標準的產生,例如ISO/IEC的MPEG系列,ITU-T的H.261、H.263,以及兩個組織共同制定的H.264/MPEG-4 AVC。網際網路的流行更將影音資料的傳輸帶到了一個新的境界,許多因應而生的應用,像是隨選視訊、視訊會議、遠距教學等,都為人們生活帶來了更多的便利及娛樂。預計我國在幾年之內將使數位電視廣播系統完全取代傳統的類比電視廣播系統。因此,在未來的數位家庭技術中,數位影音必定會是不可或缺的一部分。 然而,要達到在家裡可以以各種裝置隨時隨地取得數位影音的理想,必將面臨三個挑戰:第一,數位內容的智財權問題。第二,異質性網路的管理。第三,家庭網路內的影音傳輸品質 (QoS) 。本計畫的研究目的在於研究數位家庭閘道器之多媒體訊號處理,以提供品質良好之數位影音訊號傳輸並做到完善的數位權利管理。計劃第一年的里程碑是研究content-aware QoS之信號處理及數位權利管理 (DRM) 系統。第二年將開始研<br> Abstract: Multimedia as a means for communication and entertainment plays an important role in our lives. Years ago, multimedia data were captured, stored, and transmitted in the analog form. Recently, the prevalence of digital circuits and personal computers has brought a digital revolution to multimedia signal processing and transmission. Many multimedia compression standards have emerged, such as the MPEG series developed by ISO/IEC, the H.261 and H.263 standards created by ITU-T, and the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC standard jointly developed by both committees. The growth of Internet usage brings multimedia into a new era. Many envisioned applications such as video on demand, video conferencing, remote learning, are now made possible. It is forecasted that the analog video broadcasting system will be replaced by the digital video broadcasting system in a few years in Taiwan or even worldwide. Digital multimedia will play an important role in future digital home. To fulfill the dream of pervasive digital multimedia for home, we face three challenges. First, we have to solve the problem of digital rights protection. Second, we have to be able to manage the heterogeneous networks. Third challenge is the provisioning of QoS for digital multimedia transmission. The goal of this project is to perform advanced research on multimedia signal processing for home gateway. We want to develop technologies that enable digital multimedia access in the home with excellent quality and complete digital right management. The milestone of the first year is to research on content-aware QoS and digital rights management system. The milestone of the second year is to research on complexity-aware streaming and digital rights management on MHP and mobile devices.
