Forest composition and vegetation types are dependent on the distribution of soil genesis, soil organic matter content, and soil nutrient status. The topography of Taiwan is very complex and variable, therefore, it is necessary to study the relationships between soil properties, nutrient status of vegetation types, and landscape position. This study area was located at the 20 hectare site of Yangmingshan Volcanic National Park, which was established in the southwestern part of Chishingshan. The objectives of project are (1) to evaluate the relationships of the distribution of soil properties and landscape positions in three landscape positions, and (2) to evaluate the differences of nutrient contents of main vegetation species in study area, (3) to evaluate the soil nutrients in three landscape positions, and total nutrients uptake by different vegetation species from soils in the study area.土壤性質植群分佈地形位置養份平衡soil propertiesvegetation typeslandscapenutrient balance七星山區土壤特性與地形及優勢樹種養份分布關係之研究
