The main goals of this project are to: (1) explore the anomalous crustal deformation phenomena by analyzing the time series from continuous GPS and borehole strainmeter stations; (2) determine the accumulation of current crustal strain from GPS velocity filed; (3) compare the measurements based GPS and strainmeter data (4) study the anomalous phenomena from GPS, geochemistry data and strainmeter signal before large earthquake to assess the potential activity of crustal faults; (5) develop a comprehensive, physics-based understanding of potential activity of the major faults such as Chelungpu fault, Juisui fault, Sanchiao fault, Hsiaokangshan fault, Hsincheng fault, Muchiliao fault, Liuchia fault and Chihshang faults in Taiwan and evaluate techniques for assessing models of potential activity of crustal faults; (6) build and maintain the database for access borehole strainmeter records and set up database security. The goal of this proposal is to gather new information about active fault behavior in Taiwan using the new-installed continuous GPS, geochemistry monitoring and strainmeter stations. Along with multidisciplinary studies of plate-boundary tectonics, active fault systems, fault-zone processes, dynamics of fault ruptures, seismic activities, and analysis for potential activity of crustal faults, we aim at integrating these information into a comprehensive understanding of potential activity of crustal faults.全球衛星定位系統&#63898續觀測站時間序&#63900井下應變儀斷層活動潛勢分析GPSCGPSTime seriesBorehole StrainmeterAnalysis in Potential activity of faults斷層活動性觀測研究第二階段-斷層監測與潛勢分析研究(1/4)
