With CDU, the main feeding arteries, nidi, and draining veins were clearly visualized. In three cases with preoperative angiography-proven AVM, CDU was applied intraoperatively for identifying hematoma, AVM, adjacent normal vessels and for confirming the completeness for resection. In three other cases of non-traumatic intracerebral hemorrhage, the CDU was used to verify the presence of AVM even without the help of angiography. Angiography was not performed preoperatively in these 3 cases due to insufficient time and/or technical failure in procedure. All three cases subsequently proved to harbor an AVM by postoperative angiography and pathologic study. CDU was found to be of benefit during the intraoperative and postoperative period for assessing AVM, even when preoperative angiography was not performed# A 1593105 |
