The devices were fabricated on glass substrates with the typical structure of multiple organic layers sandwiched between the bottom indium tin oxide (ITO) anode and the top metal cathode. The cathode used consisted of a thin LiF layer as the electron injection layer and a thick Al layer as the metal electrode. Single-layer devices exhibited pure blue electroluminescence (EL) from terfluorenes with a low quantum efficiency of only ∼0.15% photon/electron. |
