In this research, we examined the international technology diffusion by using patent citations and focused on Computers and Communications field to investigate technology in-flow and out-flow between countries. The results indicate that technology diffusion of this field is more significant intra-field, differing by countries. It shows more concentrations of technology in-flow, and more spread of out-flow. Technology diffusion of major countries: US, Germany and Canada have performed fewer dependencies on the other nations; Japan, South Korea and Taiwan have performed a technological cluster; Netherlands has performed spread of technology out-flow; France, United Kingdom, Sweden and Finland have performed spread of technology in/out flows. © 2010 IEEE. |
