Craniotomy or craniectomy to remove the foreign body was done in all four patients, and an associated intracerebral hematoma was evacuated in one. In each case, the injured area was debrided and the dura was repaired. Prophylactic antibiotics were used to prevent infection. All four patients regained clear consciousness and full ambulation after surgery, although one lost his vision because the foreign body had injured his eyes. |
