Since 2011, countries around the world have started digital transformation after industrial revolution through automation and intelligentization. MRT engineering should be also transformed to automated and intelligent design from traditional design that is usually based on manual work and personal experiences. In MRT engineering design, the design of deep excavation used to relying on the experience and the judgment of senior engineers. In order to achieve technology inheritance and data intelligence readiness for the future, we developed the SinoExcavation website platform to record all the processes and results during design, analysis, 3D modeling, drawing and quantity calculations for deep excavation. In addition, SINOTECH invites the NTU BIM Research Center to assist in developing a SinoExcavation module for automatically transforming design parameters into a BIM model. At present, all the MRT projects designed by SINOTECH in the past have been uploaded onto and managed by the SinoExcavation platform, and can serve as valuable references for the designers in the future cases. Therefore, SINOTECH can not only enhance the design quality and efficiency, but reduce the risks and save the budget, leading to a better life for people through the MRT system construction. ? 2021, Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering.
