The microfluidic channel is designed based on the Bifurcation law, which can efficiently extracted red blood cell and plasma into the side channel for blood type and biomolecules testing respectively. Furthermore, white blood cells can be trapped in the main channel. The total trapped white blood cell number is ?600 in 20 minutes. The completed blood cells and plasma separation mechanism can be achieved using only 6μL whole blood without any sample pretreatment. Based on above features, we believe that our microfluidic device can potentially be applied for many point-of-care testing applications. Copyright ?
