Abstract
Enterobacter hormaechei, a member of the Enterobacter cloacae complex, has emerged as an important pathogen in healthcare-associated infections. Advancements in phylogenetic analyses and whole-genome sequencing techniques have led to the identification of E. hormaechei in numerous locations worldwide. The emergence of antibiotic-resistant E. hormaechei isolates, including those that produce extended-spectrum β-lactamases (ESBLs), AmpC β-lactamases and carbapenemases, has been reported worldwide. In this article, we review the different resistance genes of antibiotic-resistant E. hormaechei.
