Abstract
We propose a hybrid adhesive that consist of an array of microscale pillars to mimic the sticky mucilage, secreted by Sundew plant to catch preys. The micro-pillars are made of PDMS and Gum-Arabic, a synthetic biopolymer with complex and branched structures, to confer adhesive property, despite in wet condition. Further, Kanamycin A - an antibiotic for treating severe bacterial infections - is employed in our adhesives. The adhesive with hybrid biopolymer and micro-pillar shows higher adhesion forces, compared to the samples made of PDMS-only or flat surfaces.
