Abstract
Construction industry, including building industry, construction, real estate agency, building material suppliers and civil engineers, are comprehensive supply plants. Besides, these gigantic supply plants depend on politic strategies and economic situations because of their capital-intensive characteristic and long industry cycle. As a result, the strategies to integrate and intensify this mammoth supply plants by technology such as “Internet of things”, “Internet” and commercial data analysis have to be figured out. The rise of internet and technology with its inexpensive and ubiquitous connectivity are transforming traditional industries. In this paper, the integration of construction industry by e-commerce and smart-connected products has been discussed firstly. In addition, we have introduced and analyzed the strategies and transient competitive theory. Finally, we applied these strategies on construction industry by “Internet of things” in Taiwan. Based on Diversification and Transformation these relative theses, there are several advises to transform construction industry. First, real estate business should be combined with building industry by internet and commercial data analysis. Second, information technology offers after-sale service, such as predictive maintenance and service productivity, and opportunities of civil construction business. Third, build e-home by cooperating construction supply plants, also the concept of e-home increases opportunities of appliance business in the neighborhood. Furthermore, build an SNS which can offer medical services for elder people and patients. Following these advises, building industry will be more competitive and society will become happier and more convenient.
