This research will develop, in the environment including OS, Java virtual machine, and wireless access protocol (WAP) developed by other subprojects, WML servers and intelligent agents for the eHome Center. Up to now, in the first year, we have implemented on PC a server that accepts HTTP and sends out WML card decks. Through this server, we can control the electric lamps through an RS-232 interface and simple RF circuits. This demonstrates the eHome concept: Controlling the appliances through a WML browser on a remote cellular phone is feasible. |
