Title: | All-IPv6 網路與應用(II) | Authors: | 郭斯彥 | Keywords: | All-IPv6 網路;UMTS/GPRS 網路;無 線區域網路;無間隙傳輸;NBEN 網 路;VPN 網路;Multicast;Mobility;開放式服務平台;All-IPv6 Networks;UMTS/GPRS Emulator;Seamless Handoff;NBEN;VPN Network;Open Service Architecture | Issue Date: | 31-Jul-2004 | Publisher: | 臺北市:國立臺灣大學電機工程學系暨研究所 | Abstract: | 隨著網際網路的蓬勃發展及無線通訊技術 的快速演進,此兩技術終將匯流,而使得人們 得以隨時隨地的利用輕便的無線行動裝置擷取 或傳達所需的資訊。以技術而言,採用IP 做為 各種不同通訊網路間的存取介面已是必然趨 勢。UMTS/GPRS 與WLAN 交握(Handoff)應用 服務環境的出現,預期未來服務網路必是一整 合之All-IP 網路。 電腦技術的進步與網際網路的發展,促使 網路應用呈現爆炸性成長。IPv4 在應用上已有 不敷使用之窘態,IPv6 的訂定解決了上述之困 境。本計畫的目標係針對All-IPv6 網路架構中 有關交握、移動性、群播(Multicast)、多媒體應 用、安全、漫遊、及品質保證等前瞻技術進行 研究,並建構完成All-IPv6 網路實驗測試平台 及網路開放式服務整合平台。 第一期計畫著重在All-IPv4/IPv6 互連網路 設計與高品質數據通訊。主要研發在於架設 GPRS Emulator、WLAN、IPv4/v6 Router、Core MPLS Switch、NBEN 互連機制,提供網路數據 多媒體應用之「無間隙傳輸」的通訊環境。整 合各子計畫之研究成果, 我們完成GPRS Emulator 與WLAN 進行跨網服務分析、 Multicast 服務架構規劃、 Media Stream 控制及 開放式服務平台介面定義等。 本期(第二期計畫)著重在All-IPv6 網路 設計與高效能多媒體應用服務。完成「無間隙 傳輸」的環境架設並落實Pure IPv6 服務環境的 建構。整合各子計畫的研究成果,我們完成了 UMTS Emulator 分別與WLAN及GPRS 之跨網 服務分析、應用動態群播之無縫多媒體串流系 統及開放式服務平台與服務應用APIs 之整合 等。 Network applications have undergone explosive growth following improvements in computer technologies and the development of the Internet. An address on the IPv4 protocol is defined using 32 bits, insufficient to support IP network applications. This issue becomes more complex when the number of UMTS/GPRS users increases to 10 billion or more on IP-based applications. The IETF Task Force defined the IPv6 protocol to solve this problem. An integrated research project “All-IPv6 Networks and Applications” was established to help to build an All-IPv6 application environment for the telecommunications industry. The aim of this project was to develop advanced technologies and systems for All-IPv6 networks, including the handoff scheme, mobility management, multicast service method, multimedia applications, security, and QoS guarantee. The developed technologies will be embedded into the All-IPv6 testbed. The feasibility of this system will be investigated using an open service platform. According to the functional requirements of this project, the research timeline is divided into three stages (phases). The first-stage project focuses on the design of the interworking system and high-quality data communication services for All-IPv4/IPv6 networks. Tasks include developing an interworking mechanism among GPRS, WLAN, IPv4/v6 Router, Core MPLS Switch and NBEN to support a “seamless transmission” environment. The GPRS Emulator & WLAN handoff service analysis, multicast service planning, media stream control, and the open service platform interface were performed. The second-stage project focuses on the design of All-IPv6 network and the service of highly efficient multimedia application. We established the "seamless transmission" environment and the pure IPv6 network. More achievements we finished, including the handoff service analyses of UMTS Emulator between WLAN and GPRS respectively, the seamless multimedia stream system of dynamic multicast, and the integration of open service platform and its APIs. This work will provide a “highly efficient” and “high quality” All-IPv6 network and application environment. More key modules, including an interworking scheme, a security module, a mobile agent, and various protocols for improving system QoS were developed. These modules will then be applied to the All-IPv6 network and applications to provide responsive information services. We believe that the results of this research solve outstanding technical problems in All-IP network establishment, handoff technology, wireless, mobility and high quality assurance. |
