This numerical platform is grid-based and enables simulation of light scattering by an arbitrary geometry of macroscopic dimensions. Based upon Maxwell's equations, the proposed numerical platform simulates an idealized light scattering experiment in a practically noiseless environment with controllable variables. In this manuscript, we investigate the angular and spectral light scattering characteristics of a cluster of coated dielectric cylinders. Specific results suggest that microscopic structural details is correlated to macroscopic scattering characteristics. © 2007 The Japan Society of Applied Physics. |
