Compared to the conventional buck topology, the HS-L buck has lower losses attributed to lower conduction losses in the inductor and diode, and a wider discontinuous conduction mode range. Experimental results verify higher efficiency using the HS-L buck compared to the conventional buck topology, achieving efficiency above 92% and power factor above 0.9 over the universal input range. © 2004-2012 IEEE. |
