Abstract
In this study, Simulink models for MCU and VCU of ITRI's CPEV were developed with the aim to replace the existing controllers (MCU and VCU) with emulator (Simulink and Opal-RT) models. Moreover, CAN Bus was implemented to facilitate real-time communication between Opal-RT and dSPACE emulators. The constructed platform was used to achieve experimental verification for rapid development of ITRI's CPEV control units. With the motor failure model and development of multi-traction motor EV model, the stability and the maneuverability of multi-traction motor EV occurred in the fault mode was studied. Based on this study, this project will develop real-time fault detection and failure management strategy for motor drive system for intelligent electric vehicle.
