Abstract
A male neonate was born by caesarean section due to placental abruption at 34?weeks of gestation. Gestational diabetes and polyhydramnios were noted during pregnancy. There was no premature rupture of membrane. At birth, many thin erythematous finely scaly patches with satellite maculopapules were noticed on the neck, axillae, chest and lower abdomen (figure 1A). Respiratory distress developed shortly with tachypnoea and subcostal retraction. Potassium hydroxide preparations of the scaly patches revealed numerous budding spores and pseudohyphae. �K
