Abstract
Abstract Fuzzy as well as statistical operations are performed to illustrate potential usages of the membership functions of the surface colors of apaque materials obtained through the fuzzy statistical experiment. The method is examplified by the color selection procedure in product design. The degree of association between colors and visual perception about colors is investigated through correlation analysis. The fuzzy membership functions and the associated statistical method provide a natural basis for the quantification of a qualitative relation about colors.
