Abstract
Despite the many advantages of using the Internet, concerns persist regarding student Internet overuse. How teachers organize instruction and detect student ICT overuse deserves particular attention. The first part of the study uses a survey regarding teachers’ ICT integration practices and perceptions of students Internet overuse by grade 1-9 teachers in Taiwan. Logistic regression analysis suggests teachers’ ICT integration strategies have an effect on students’ Internet overuse. The second part involves interviews with nine teachers in elementary and secondary schools. The results explored the roles of teachers in detecting problems, providing instructional support, and communicating with parents in order to reduce Internet overuse.
