Abstract
Three Periconiella species were collected in Taiwan and investigated with light and scanning electron microscopy and nuc LSU rDNA analysis. A new species of Periconiella is proposed for a hyphomycete with apically branched conidiophores and relationship to Mycosphaerellaceae found on living leaves of Machilus zuihoensis and an unidentified species of Lauraceae. Two further species, Periconiella lygodii and P. perseae-macranthae, are recorded outside India for the first time and on new host species. Hadrotrichum laurinum is transferred to Passalora.
