Abstract
This study reviews operations management papers published in TSSCI journals between 1984 and 2014. Extensive review on motivations, methods and domains of these papers is conducted to identify trends and roadmaps of operations management research in Taiwan. Facing the challenges of the Industry 4.0 from Germany and Advanced Manufacturing Partnership from USA as well as other similar strategies from Korea and China, Taiwanese companies need to find the right strategy to enhance the core competence. Driven by the enabling technologies and their innovative applications, this study proposes possible directions for research collaborations between universities and industries in Taiwan and helps Taiwanese industries find niche positions in the restructuring value chain.
