Abstract
The majority of mediastinal teratomas are cystic and benign. Cystic teratomas are tumors that contain ectodermal, mesodermal, and endodermal derivatives. The most common sites of cystic teratomas are ovaries and the mediastinum. The ultrasonographic and CT findings of cystic teratomas of ovary or mediastinum have been described in the literature. We report a case with sonographic findings of echogenic floating spherules in the cyst. The sonographic findings were correlated with CT scans and pathologic specimen.
