Abstract
The effects of the displacement and distortion of potential surfaces were examined for MPV oligomer in solvents of toluene and chloroform by photoluminescence and absorption spectroscopies, and measurement of the radiative lifetime of the oligomer. Due to its simplicity in electronic states, the detail of the vibrational contribution to the spectra was revealed. It was found that both displacements and distortions of vibrational modes are important in fitting the observed spectra.
