Abstract
The reshaping of nanoclusters having wormlike shapes was described theoretically using a continuum model. The behavior of Cu(100) and Ag(100) systems were found to be similar. A signature periphery diffusion mechanism was observed via the geometry driven pinch-off phenomenon.
