Abstract
With the recently derived universal formula for the current near the end of a tubular antenna, it is possible to improve the current distribution obtained from the three-term solution. The current near the end of the tube is represented by the universal formula, the currents on the other parts of the antenna by the three-term solution. The currents and charge densities obtained from the two formulations are then matched at the junction. When the combined solution is compared with experimental results, it is seen that the currents at the end as well as the driving-point admittance have been improved significantly.
