Abstract
This paper presents an introduction to ultra-low-carbon bainitic steels and illustrates their typical microstructural details. The aim of improving bainite's hardenability and increasing its toughness is emphasized. The paper also deals with the effects of alloying additions and processing parameters on microstructures and mechanical properties for this type of steel. © 1992.
