Abstract
The thermal degradation behavior of hexa (hexadecaanilino) [60] fullerene is compared to its parent star-bust aniline oligomer. The fullerene exhibited higher stability than its parent oligomer. The observed higher stability is attributed to the capping of the terminal amino group of oligoanilines by a C60 cage. Upon protonation, the thermal stability of star-like oligoanilines is governed essentially by the dopants stability.
