Traumatic muscle injury can be comprehensively evaluated using static, dynamic, and Doppler ultrasound imaging. In the present review, we briefly discuss mechanisms of traumatic muscle injury, present ultrasound images of normal muscles, focus on ultrasound assessment of injured muscles, and concisely discuss treatment and rehabilitation options for muscle injuries.
