Abstract
Cerebral thrombophlebitis is a rare complication of pregnancy and post-partum. We report the case of a 22 year old woman presenting with a post-partum cerebral thrombophlebitis, secondary to an acquired deficiency of antithrombin III. The clinical symptoms of cerebral thrombophlebitis can be misleading. Angiography and magnetic resonance imaging can make the diagnosis. Treatment is based on anticoagulating heparin therapy. This treatment must be adapted in the case of coagulation deficiency factors, which must always be investigated when there is a thromboembolic accident of unusual location.
