Abstract
Separation of the water-insoluble fraction of the ethanol extract from the root of Paliurus hemsleyanus led to the isolation of three new triterpenes. They are ceanothic acid derivatives named zizyberenalic acid ceanothanolic acid and 2-O-(p-coumaroyl)-ceanothanolic acid. Additional NMR data for the known colubrinic acid and euscaphic acid, the latter being characterized as methyl ester, were also assigned.
