Abstract
Litebaine, a novel phenanthrene alkaloid, was isolated from the woods of Litsea cubeba. Its structure was elucidated as 3,7-dihydroxy-4,6-dimethoxy-N-methyl-tetrahydropyrido[4,3-a]phenanthrene (1) on the basis of spectral analysis. © 1991.
