Abstract
Androsta-4,8(l4)-diene-3,17-dione [4], 5a-androst-8(l4)-ene-3,17-dione [5], androsta-4,8(l4),15-triene-3,17-dione [6], 8, l4-α-epoxyandrosta-4,6-diene-3,17-dione [7], and 17β-hydroxyandrosta-4,8(14)-dien-3-one [8], five new C19 steroids, were isolated and characterized from incubation of cycloartenol [1], 24-methylenecycloartanol [2], or lanosterol [3] with Mycobacterium sp.
