Abstract
Suicide surveillance system is one of the critical components of suicide prevention. The efficiency and success of a national system depends on the design and performance of the system itself. This paper examines and evaluates the newly integrated and refined system in Taiwan. System architecture, design, performance and safety as well as changes in reporting process are analyzed. Beside IT issues, user factors influencing reporting rate are also discussed as challenges facing the new system. ?2006 IEEE.
