In the face of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) epidemic, it is imperative for HCWs to update the knowledge of postexposure prophylaxis against HIV infection. In this article, we review the management guidelines of occupational exposure to HIV currently recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States and enlist the problems which the HCWs with such occupational exposure and the hospital administration may encounter here in Taiwan. |
