As metal oxides are having perception to be castoff in various electronic and optoelectronic appliances, the chapter provides the standpoint of metal oxides. Properties of metal oxide for which these materials exhibit excellent expedients are discussed. Corresponding chemical reactions are also mentioned in this chapter. A brief detail of the applications for metal oxides is revealed. Theoretical background for some precise metal oxide materials with intrinsic defects for optoelectronic applications is revealed in this chapter. The details of some specific metal oxides are discussed. Finally, the chapter deals with defects and defect-related properties and how to characterize the defects and corresponding phenomena. Overall, a brief description of defects-correlated properties of metal oxide materials for optoelectronic applications is discussed in this chapter in detail. |
