Boost converters are the most commonly used topology in PFC circuits. In order to design the feedback controller for a PFC circuit, simulation is a useful tool to investigate the circuit using both time-domain and frequency analysis. This paper investigates and compares the theoretical small-signal model of a PFC boost converter and its simulation results using circuit simulation in SIMPLIS. The transfer functions of a non-ideal boost converter and feedback controller are derived, and the equivalent circuits are simulated. Comparison of theoretical and simulated results is used to verify the accuracy of the small-signal modeling and investigate stability. © 2021 IEEE. |
