Abstract
The droplet separation methods are developing rapidly, especially wetting and membrane separation. However, the complex pressure control and flocculation in the process make the separation ineffective and expensive. This research presents a liquid-liquid separator using stretchable helix wire. The separator splits two immiscible liquids base on Laplace's law. Aqueous and organic slug flow towards the helix wire separator. The organic solution cannot sustain the Laplace pressure and flows between wire gaps. In contrast, the aqueous solution stays inside the helix wire to achieve separation in a core-annular flow manner.
