Abstract
Biodiesel is one of the most important alternative energy sources today. Most of the biodiesel production is carried out in batch reactors in traditional processes. To enhance the production yield and reduce the cost of the space and time, continuous production in a series of miniaturized reactors were employed for biodiesel transesterification and purification processes. We have developed a train of micro-unit operators including mixer, separator and extractor for the continuous biodiesel production process.
