It can predict not only the base shear and deformation capacity of buildings but also the acceleration response of each floor. The floor acceleration is a significant design parameter for nonstructural components. The National Center for Research on Earthquake Engineering proposed a nonlinear analysis procedure, the Taiwan Earthquake Assessment for Structures by Pushover Analysis (TEASPA). This study predicts the capacity curve and acceleration response of each floor of a 10-story RC building using TEASPA. A shaking table test is conducted on the 10-story RC building in E-Defense in 2015. The predicted results are verified by the experimental data of the 10-story RC building. It is found that TEASPA can effectively and conservatively predict the story shear and deformation capacity of each floor of the tested building. The predicted deformation shape agrees well with the test results. In addition, this study proposes a procedure to estimate the acceleration demand values for each floor in accordance with the comparison of the test observations. |
